Hello Hello, Hey Hey Hey!
Is anyone else completely shocked that we are basically at the end of May??
Like, what the heck.
Side note: my birthday is next Saturday and I cannot even believe it. I’m usually running around to everyone for weeks leading up to my birthday reminding them that it’s almost my birthday and here it is, a week away and I didn’t even realize it until I started writing this post.
Time needs to slow down.
Any who, enough about my big day.
I am here to give you tips and tricks on how to set up a quick & simple, but super festive Memorial Day table along with a few healthy snack ideas.
Arthur and I are not really planners. We like to usually go with the flow (unless it’s a vacation, then I’m planning months in advance).
But for BBQ’s or fun get togethers, it’s typically a last minute kind of thing.
We are also not big spenders. I don’t like to spend a whole lot on something that’s only going to last a few hours, or on decor that probably won’t get used again until the next year (in which case, I usually stash said decor away and forget about it and then buy new stuff the next year. #HoarderStatus).
So for those of you like me, def take some of these tips and tricks for an affordable and non time-consuming hangout with friends this Summer.
Tip #1 : Get Creative! When it comes to decor you don’t have a spend a fortune.
Grab some fake flowers in red, white, and blue, some colorful candies, and festive straws and napkins. I love candles, so naturally I snagged up a ton of candle holders for the table too. If it’s an outdoor party, get some citronella tea lights.
Tip #2: Keep the snacks healthy and easy to eat! I am LOVING these NEW Chobani Mezé™ Dips. First of all, they’re Chobani so they’re full of healthy, all natural ingredients & are non-GMO, and they’re easy to serve with your favorite veggies or chips including carrots, red peppers, celery, pita chips, tortilla chips, or pretzels. Not to mention, you have 4 flavors to choose from, so pick whichever tickles your tastebuds that day. (You can find these gems at your local Walmart in the deli section, FYI)
Another easy snack idea are my fruit skewers. Stab some blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas onto a skewer, and VOILA! A festive and tasty treat. People want foods that they can eat and walk around with, so def keep it simple.
Tip #4 : HAVE FUN. Don’t stress about making it perfect or making sure that you have a million options for people to choose from. Pick a few key snacks, drinks, and throw in some hot dogs, and I guarantee your friends and fat will be as happy as clams. Set up some backyard games like corn hole, horseshoes, ping pong, ladder ball (if you’ve never heard of that, look it up. That game is the shiizzzz).
