So it’s only 8pm and I’m already ready for bed.
Total old lady over here. I still haven’t quite recovered from our trip and to top it off, my sweet pup Pepper has been insanely sick the last 2 days. She gets super stressed when she goes to the kennel and this was her longest stay. She came from the worst shelter so unfortunately, even though she goes to the nicest spot ever, she freaks out.
Would love some tips on how to get her to be comfortable at the kennel if anyone experiences the same thing with their dog. One would think she would at least find comfort in Nellie, but no.
Breaks my heart.
Anywhoooooo, I’d better get to the point of this post before I fall asleep, ha!
I am an avid book reader, as you all know! I’m constantly mentioning my weekly trips to Barnes and Noble because I just have to have more books, even though I have like 50 sitting on my shelf I still need to read.
Below are some of the ones I’ve started reading and one that I haven’t gotten to yet, but heard is amazing!
The Bookshelf Edit: May Edition
Big Little Lies: I haven’t actually started this one yet, but my sister gave it to me when we were in Cali last week and she said it was really good. I’m the type who has to read the book before I can watch the movie or show, so this definitely on my “next-up” list so I can stop hearing spoilers. If ya haven’t heard of it, it’s about 3 women dealing with some shit in their lives. They all come together to help each other out and throughout the book have to tell little lies to themselves to make it through the day.
Daring & Disruptive: Ok, so I talked about this book here, but it’s honestly so amazing, I’m bringing it up again. Th more I read it, the more I love it. If you’re just starting out as an entrepreneur, wanting to be an entrepreneur, or working 27351823 jobs while building up your side hustle- you gotta read this. Hearing how Lisa Messenger had a million doors slammed in her face, but still kept going is crazy inspiring.
A Man Called Ove: This book is also becoming a movie, so I had to rush out and buy it asap. I’ve only gotten through the first few pages, but I’m already hooked. It’s about a grumpy old man who learns to lighten up and love after he gets new neighbors. It’s a very cute story.
What are you reading this month??
Ok, I’m off to watch Salem (this show is really good! Check it out on Netflix) and head to bed!
