I love love love making over my closet and shopping for Spring outfits. Finally adding in those fun, bright prints, definitely a little floral action for sure puts me in a good mood… Oh, and of course my mood is instantly brightened when everything I snag is under $50.

Spring is 1 week away and with the longer days of sunshine here (thank the Universe- it’s legit been raining for 2 weeks straight and I’m about to lose my shit), I figured it was time to get a head start on revamping my closet, so I’m sharing my Spring outfit must-haves, and just a few tippity tips on how to easily transition your Winter wardrobe for Spring.

Raise your hand if you’re also saying goodbye to sweaters and scarves and helloooooo cute tops, linen and cropped pants, and sun dresses!

This season I’m trying to shake things up a bit. Get out of my comfort zone and try to expand my personal style to extend past jeans and graphic tees. I’m going for more color, prints, and clothing styles.

Sometimes, it’s necessary to take a step back, do some research on what you’re drawn to, and put together a mini lookbook of what you want to start wearing.

That way, when you go shopping (online or in stores), you know exactly what to look for and how to convert those into outfits.

I have a bad habit of just thinking I know what I want to buy, and then I end up ordering $200 worth of stuff, hating it 2 months later, and realizing that everything I just got basically matches what I already own.

*insert cringe face emoji*

2018 is a year of change and it’s starting with my closet!

Alright, I’m rambling now. Let’s dive in to some of my recent faves!

I have been a sucker the last 2 years for floral prints. Something about that print just screams “happy vibes”. (I just happened to look up from my laptop and saw this vintage rocking chair I got from my grandma, covered in floral print, and I couldn’t help but smile. HA- see, happy vibes). I also love how versatile the style can be: fun & flirty, edgy & chic, or casual. I’m for sure going to be pairing the peach crops with a plain white tank and either a denim or faux leather jacket. Add in my staple white keds, or nude pumps and voila! The perfect Spring look.
And The white flares with a tight black strapless top, would be perfection for a date night! (hinty, hinty Arthur!)

I think the thing I love most about dressing for Spring and Summer is how easy your outfits become. As much as I love layering a chunky sweater with a scarf, sometimes, I just wanna throw on a tank top, sandals, and shorts or a comfy pair of linen pants.
We’re going to Charleston for a week for my birthday in June (umm.. side note, I’m gonna be 30! Where the fuck has the time gone???), and all of these would be perfect for those insta worthy photo spots and the hot weather.

Transitioning Your Winter Wardrobe Into Spring

1. Use those lightweight sweaters from Fall, as beach coverups for those nights at the beach when you’re huddled around a bonfire.

2. Layer a fun moto jacket under a thicker coat when it’s still chilly, but wear it alone with denim shorts and converse, when the 75 degree temps return.

3. Swap the scarves for fun head bandanas. They’ll keep your neck warm for now, but then can easily be turned into headbands.

4. Cheer up your dark colored purse or laptop bags with a colorful strap or wallet, or use the bandanas from above & tie it around the strap of your bag, to add a pop of color and flair.

What are you doing to prep your closet?? Any trends you’re trying out this season??

xoxo, Ashlee
