Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper

I love love love supporting businesses that are doing big, amazing things for the planet and its people or animals.

A major goal of mine is to eventually launch a company or charity that can give back in a monumental way, so when “Who Gives A Crap” reached out and asked me if I would share their message with all of you, it was an obvious no-brainer that I would of course say yes.

If you’ve never heard of them, here is a little backstory:

How “Who Gives A Crap” Came About

Simon, Jehan and Danny launched Who Gives A Crap, in 2012 after learning that 2.3 billion people across the world don’t have access to a toilet. That’s about 40% of the global population, which means that around 289,000 children under five die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.

That’s insane! More people are going with toilets, than cell phones. Like, what the heck??

So,  while WGAC toilet paper is quickly becoming a household bathroom staple, what’s even better, is that with every purchase, 50% of the profits is donated to helping build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.

THEIR IMPACT

To date, they’ve donated close to $950,000 to charity ( WaterAid Australia, Sanergy, Shining Hope For Communitiesand Lwala Community Alliance — incredible organisations with deep experience and skill in implementing high impact sanitation projects throughout the developing world), and saved countless amounts of trees, water, and energy by producing an eco-friendly product.

None of the toilet paper they sell is made with trees (they believe trees are for hugging and for animals to enjoy living in). Instead they use 100% recycled paper or 100% bamboo (don’t worry, this TP is insanely soft, I use it everyday and LOVE it).

They also have paper towels made from bamboo and sugarcane for all your cleaning and kitchen needs, and tissues made from 100% bamboo, so feel free to blow your nose all you want and know you’re doing something good.

Can we just stop for a second and just take in the fact that these resources can be used to create an eco-friendly amazing product that is used daily by all??

I don’t get why more companies aren’t jumping on this train.

WGAC also doesn’t use any inks, dyes, or scents, so you know you don’t have anything crazy going in your body.
AND, they offer home delivery and provide ya with enough TP to last you quite awhile. It’s also wrapped in eco-friendly paper so it jazzes up your bathroom a bit. I love a good pop of color and knowing I will never run out of TP (something that has happened one too many times).

Based on how they make their products, to date, they’ve saved:

◊ 50,586 trees
◊ 98,465,965 liters of water (that’s the equivalent of 39 olympic sized swimming pools)
◊ 7,845 tons of greenhouse gas emissions have been avoided

Imagine the positive impact on the environment if every company copied Who Gives A Crap’s efforts to create a product. We’d be in much better shape and the planet and its inhabitants would be thriving.
